Wenger finally speaks on recalling Arsenal star from loan
Arsene Wenger has finally given his stance on whether Jack Wilshere can be recalled from his loan spell at Bournemouth at this time of the season.
The England international was allowed to join Eddie Howe’s side for the remainder of the campaign on the final day of the summer transfer window.
However, a string of impressive displays from Wilshere at the Vitality stadium has prompted rumours of a swift return to his parent club.
And with Arsenal now in the midst of a midfield crisis as Granit Xhaka, Aaron Ramsey and Mohamed Elneny remain unavailable, it would make sense to bring back the 25-year-old.
Unfortunately, Wenger has revealed the terms of the deal with Bournemouth would not allow that to happen.
“We have agreed for Wilshere to go for one year on loan, we will accept that,” Wenger said.
“We could do with having him back, but we didn’t push him out – he wanted to go somewhere and play.
“He wanted to go, he law the level of competitiveness.
“There is a huge level of competition, he wanted to go and I accept the consequences of that.”
