21-year-old picked out as heir to Cazorla’s throne
Arsene Wenger has been linked with a move for another midfielder who could be a replacement for Santi Cazorla.
The Spaniard has been troubled by injuries over the past couple of seasons, spending several months on the sidelines last term.
Despite being handed a one-year contract extension, Cazorla’s new injury blow which will see him miss the rest of this campaign has prompted Wenger to search for another central midfielder.
As a result, the Metro via Spanish source Marca, are claiming that Arsenal are interested in the signing of Malaga star Pablo Fornals.
The promising 21-year-old has been linked with a move to the Emirates stadium in the past after a string of impressive displays in La Liga.
According to the report, Arsenal are tracking Fornals at the moment with plans of a summer transfer move which could see him become the Gunners’ third midfield signing since January 2016.
The youngster reportedly has a buy-out clause in his contract with Malaga which is believed to be worth around $12.4 million (£10 million).
