Gunners move in for new striker signing, huge transfer fee involved – report
Arsene Wenger is reportedly eying the addition of a new goal scorer according to emerging rumours.
Arsenal have once again struggled to sustain a convinving push for the Premier League title, dropping out of the top four in the process.
As a result, Wenger has been charged with the task of strengthening his attacking options if he is to remain at the club.
And according to the Mirror, the Gunners have now joined the race for the signature of highly-rated youngster Kylian Mbappe.
The 18-year-old has been in stunning form so far this season, scoring more than 20 goals in all competitions for AS Monaco.
Mbappe, who has already been called up to feature for France, is apparently being pursued by several other big clubs around Europe.
Wenger’s outstanding track record of nurturing promising youngsters – especially those from French football – into stars could be what swings the potential transfer in Arsenal’s favour.
However, Monaco are believed to be seeking a fee beyond the world-record €89 million which Mamchester United paid for Paul Pogba last summer.
