Arsenal now favourites to agree €60 million new striker signing
Arsene Wenger has received another boost in his pursuit of a new striker heading into the summer transfer window.
The Gunners failed in several attempts to secure the acquisition of a goalscorer last summer as Jamie Vardy turned down a move to the Emirates stadium.
However, Wenger is expected to resume his interest in Lyon striker Alexander Lacazette one more time.
And in a new interview with RMC, the French club’s director Bernard Lacombe has admitted that the sale of the 25-year-old, who is valued at around €60 million, could happen this summer.
“The departure of Alex would be very difficult for our club, because even if we could make lots of money, he is an immense player and I do not think that we will understand the magnitude of his departure fully until it happens.” Lacombe said
“Then, it will be a lot more difficult for us, even if we make a good decision on the replacement that would come in. I do not know which team he will go to. I hope for only one thing, that he will stay with us for another year, or two, because he is an immense player.”
