BBC’s Ornstein gives update on Arsenal’s move for £80m star
BBC journalist David Ornstein has given an update on Arsenal’s pursuit of AS Monaco star Thomas Lemar.
The Gunners welcomed Alexandre Lacazette from Olympique Lyonnais almost two weeks ago following several months of speculation.
But Arsene Wenger has refused to rule out the signing of another attacking player heading into the 2017/18 season and Lemar has been deemed as his main target.
The Arsenal manager is believed to have made a couple of offers for the 21-year-old which have been turned down by the Ligue 1 champions.
And according to BBC’s David Ornstein, Wenger is now losing hope of securing the acquisition of the highly-rated midfielder.
Arsenal growing less optimistic of signing Lemar. Still trying but other Monaco exits reduce chances. Intention remains to keep Sanchez #AFC
