Arsenal to make €55.7m new offer for player as Wenger makes one more push to secure deal
Arsene Wenger is set to make one more attempt to secure the services of his main transfer target according to reports.
The Arsenal manager saw young midfielder Alex Iwobi impress on Wednesday as his side defeated Bayern Munich in a penalty shoot-out after a late equalizer in their pre-season friendly.
However, Wenger is still keen on bringing in another attacking option to bolster his squad and Thomas Lemar appears to be the man he is determined to sign.
According to Football.London Arsenal are set to return with yet another offer for the 21-year-old star.
AS Monaco have already turned down at least two offers from the Gunners for Lemar whom they value at around €89.2 million (£80 million).
The new report is suggesting that Arsenal will be submitting a bid of €55.7 million (£50 million) for the France international.
Lemar made his breakthrough last season, scoring 14 goals and racking up 14 assists as Monaco managed to clinch the Ligue 1 title after reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League.
The midfielder is believed to have delayed talks over a new contract with the French champions due to his interest in moving to the Emirates stadium this summer.
