Former Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jamie Redknapp has questioned the ambition of three of Arsenal’s Englishmen.

Arsene Wenger has continued his clear out of fringe players this week with loan moves for Carl Jenkinson and Cohen Bramall already completed after Gabriel’s departure a few days ago.

A number of Arsenal’s first team stars have also been linked with an exit due to a lack of regular first team football.

And according to Redknapp, the likes of Jack Wilshere, Kieran Gibbs and Theo Walcott should be eager to make a move since they are hardly making a name for themselves at the Emirates stadium.

“The problem is that everything is far too comfortable at Arsenal. Nobody plays as if they are under any pressure.” the former Premier League star said

“I cannot understand why players such as Theo Walcott, Jack Wilshere and Kieran Gibbs are content to remain on the fringes of the first-team.

“They should be trying to force their way in or go and kick-start their careers elsewhere.”

Wilshere has only one year remaining on his contract at the club, Walcott is yet to be handed a start in the new campaign while a bid from West Bromwich Albion for Gibbs was recently rejected.
