The Gunners have received some encouragement over completing a transfer move for one of their long-time targets in January, according to reports.

Arsene Wenger was able to add only two new players to the Arsenal squad during the summer transfer window as Sead Kolasinac and Alexandre Lacazette arrived.

However, with the future of key forward Alexis Sanchez appearing to be very much uncertain, the Gunners are likely to be pursuing a replacement.

Indeed, according to Talk Sport, Paris Saint-Germain are now open to the idea of a swap deal which would see the Chile international and Julian Draxler head in the opposite direction.

The report is indicating that Draxler has dropped down the pecking order in France and as a result, PSG are interested in offloading him to gain the services of Sanchez.

Wenger has been linked with the Germany international for several years and this could be his best opportunity to secure his signature ahead of next summer’s World Cup.
