Arsenal agree terms with player over transfer move before World Cup starts

Unai Emery appears to be closing in on his first additions as the new manager of Arsenal ahead of next season.

The Gunners made an announcement last week that the former Paris Saint-Germain manager would be taking over as the replacement for Arsene Wenger.

Emery, who comes with a demanding style of play, seems to have immediately identified which areas he would like to improve in the squad.

That has seen rumours continue to claim that Juventus defender Stephan Lichtsteiner is on the brink of a move to the Emirates stadium.

According to Italian source Gazzetto Dello Sport, the 34-year-old has now agreed terms with Arsenal over a transfer.

The report also states that a deal for Lichtsteiner is very likely to be completed before the World Cup in Russia begins.

Due to the fact that the veteran defender’s contract with Juventus has now expired, he will be moving to north London as a free agent.
