Arsenal backed to agree club-record $129.5 million new signing
A former Arsenal player has backed Arsene Wenger to complete the signing of one of European football’s most coveted players.
Once again, ahead of the summer transfer window, the Gunners have been linked with moves for a host of big-name players.
Kylian Mbappe has been deemed as one of Wenger’s main targets in the transfer market after the striker’s inspiring season with AS Monaco.
Even so, the Arsenal boss admitted this week that the youngster’s $129.5 million price tag could turn out to be what hinders any potential deal.
However, ex-Gunner Robert Pires is actually confident that a deal for Mbappe to move to the Emirates stadium will be completed.
“I do think Arsenal will sign him,” Pires said, as quoted by the Daily Mail
“The problem is how much. Mbappe has the potential to play for Arsenal and Wenger is the right manager to manage him.
“Monaco and Arsenal are very similar in clubs, so it won’t be much of a transition.”
