BBC pundit Robbie Savage has recommended Arsene Wenger to change his midfield pairing in order to challenge for the Premier League title.

Arsenal have one win under their belt so far after managing to defeat Leicester City 4-3 in a thrilling encounter on Friday.

The victory over the Foxes saw the Gunners take advantage of dropped points from rivals Chelsea and Liverpool.

However, Arsenal’s clash with Leicester also exposed some of the team’s most concerning weaknesses.

And with the transfer window still open, Wenger could still move to improve his squad for what is expected to be a demanding season.

According to Savage, the Arsenal manager is unlikely to win the title if he relies on a central midfield partnership between Granit Xhaka and Mohamed Elneny.

“You’re not going to win the league with Xhaka and Elneny in the middle of the park,” Savage said

“There is no creativity there. You won’t challenge for the league with those two players.”

With the fitness and form of Francis Coquelin seemingly unreliable, Arsenal have been linked with the addition on Nice star Jean Michael Seri.
