Arsenal defender arrested

Arsenal reserves’ star and current loan-boy Kerrea Gilbert was privately arrested on the night of September 24 for been under the influence of alcohol and with disorderly conduct. Gilbert who is very much a familiar misbehaving personality in Arsenal’s ranks will be trialed during January and possibly awaits a condemning verdict.
The 21-year-old who occasionally mingled with the first-team during the 2005/06 season has made nine competitive appearances on this level and has been on loan at League One side Leicester City since the start of the season. He was notably spotted in disputes with coaches of Cardiff City and Southend United during his past loan spells and Gilbert’s attitude could have finally drawn a fatal line under his promised chances at club. The last Arsenal player to suffer a similar fate was Jermaine Pennant.
With the sale of Justin Hoyte and brother Gavin still a learning teenager, Gilbert was a favorite candidate to become Bacary Sagna’s back-up.
But with the latest of his troublesome behavior unresolved until January next year, the English youngster is yet to convince Wenger for an opportunity.
