Arsenal face Stoke City in FA Cup 4th round
Arsenal have been drawn away to Stoke City for the fourth round of the FA Cup.
The Potters are rewarded another home tie after their 3-1 victory over York while Arsenal will have to see through an away test again to keep their Wembley hopes alive.
Asked of his immediate reaction to being drawn against Stoke City during his post-match interview today, Arsene Wenger appeared unfazed about the task of facing Tony Pulis’ men.
“It doesn’t really matter who we are drawn against, it is about giving a good performance.” Wenger told ITV.
Arsenal were 2-0 victors at the Emirates Stadium the last time these sides met but the Gunners did slump to a 2-1 defeat when they last visted the Brittannia Sadium in November 2008.
All fixtures of the next round of the FA Cup will be played during the weekend of January 23/24.
hey we have no reason to fear any team in England or anywhere in Europe, the way we have played this season in fact they are the ones who should fear us since we seem to really be gelling and have started to show that hunger to win, something we didn’t show many times last term.
i expect us to win stoke at stoke though i admit they do play well at home but i doubt they can out score us so once they play an open game we are sure to win,
go the ARSENAL!!!!!!!!!
The fact is, since this is an FA Cup tie instead of a premiership affair (where they will either look to sit back deep and hold on to a point or catch us on the break for all 3) it will definitely be an open game.
Their pitch is spacious and smooth and that suits our football. So no matter how physical they play or appear, we will gun them down like we did at Pompey.
What is worrying is the Rory Delap throw-in factor. But I think we dealt with it well in the recent meeting and as a matter of fact, Toure WAS the liability when it came to our lack of aerial ability in the past while Gallas was always decent in the air. And with the heading monster Vermaelen there, we shouldn’t worry much.
There were sides I wanted to avoid in the fourth round, and Stoke weren’t one of them. That said though, expect this to be a tough tie, very tough.
actully man i would of wanted leeds they got lucky today they suck they r in legue 1
Wenger’s approach towards the FA Cup is rather casual cos’ his priority is the Premier League games. Where we stand in the Premier League table, we are in good position to win the Premier League. For me, whether we win or lose at Stoke City is not a big issue but rather avoiding injury.Anyway, its a bonus to advance to the 4th round of the FA Cup competition.

WTF?? is this real? did Wenger really say so?
Stoke at home is always going to be a difficult game, but we should not fear them because we are a better team.It should be interesting to see how the professor re-balances the team in the absence of Alex Song.If fit,Denilson should be the obvious replacement, but what do i know.
