Arsenal expected to welcome back 30-year-old to training
Arsenal have been handed a boost over the fitness of Henrikh Mkhitaryan ahead of the clash with Manchester United in the FA Cup on Saturday.
Unai Emery and his side have been hit with several injury blows in the Spaniard’s first season as manager.
The Gunners beat Chelsea at the Emirates stadium last weekend with Alexandre Lacazette and Laurent Koscielny scoring in the first half of the game to secure a 2-0 victory.
Not involved in the clash with the Blues was Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who has been sidelined for several weeks now after suffering an injury during a patchy period for the Gunners.
The Armenia international was often criticised by fans while he was available but his absence has certainly been felt over the past month with the team struggling to create chances to score in certain games.
However, ahead of the clash with Manchester United in the FA Cup, the club has revealed that the former Borussia Dortmund star is set to return to training.
“Right foot. Expected to return to full training this week.” an official update from the club said.
