The Gunners will face last season’s rock bottom top flight finishers West Brom at the Emirates Stadium next month.

Arsenal – first name out of the hat during Saturday’s draw – will meet Roberto di Matteo’s Baggies for the first time since a 3-1 victory at the Hortons in March.

Wenger’s men completed a double over West Brom in the Premier League last season and the side formerly managed by Tony Mowbray are excelling at the top of the Championship so far with 11 points after five games.

The tie will be played in the week commencing September 21.
