Former Gunner Ian Wright has picked out the three players whom he believes Arsenal should be chasing in this summer’s transfer window.

Unai Emery has failed to meet the target of securing a Champions League return for the club in his first ever season after replacing Arsene Wenger as manager.

The Spaniard is not expected to have too many funds available to splash the cash in the transfer market this summer though, unlike rivals like Manchester United, who often look to rectify mistakes by spending more on new players.

Club owner Stan Kroenke has refused to spend big, ever since he became the majority shareholder of the Gunners, and that is indeed unlikely to change this summer.

With that being the case, Arsenal will have to go back to chasing potential instead of the finished product in the transfer market and former Gunner Ian Wright has picked out three players with potential, whom he believes the club should go after.

“Someone like Ben Chilwell,” Wright told the Mirror when asked about potential signings.

“He is the kind of left-back who is getting better with every game.

“He’s an England international now. Somebody that I’m sure is going to be sought after.

“Then there is Youri Tielemans. He came over from Monaco.

“He’s on loan at Leicester City and he’s someone that – well there are loads of teams linked with him – but he’s someone that you’d want to have.

“And Nicolas Pepe at Lille. That kind of winger with his intensity, pace and skill.

“Those are the kind of players that are definitely going to improve any team, if I’m totally honest.

“And they’re at the age where they are going to be there for a few years. So that’s a dream list if I’m being totally honest.”
