Former Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour has picked out whom he believes would be the best fit for the Arsenal job when Arsene Wenger’s reign is over.

Wenger was rewarded with a new two-year contract at the club after the FA Cup final victory over Chelsea in May despite enduring a disappointing 2016/17 campaign.

And following a slow start to this season, several fans and pundits are once again calling for the Frenchman to be replaced by a new manager.

Thus, ex-Gunner Ray Parlour has recommended the club to consider appointing Patrick Vieira with Thierry Henry also being a good candidate for the job.

“If I was Arsenal now, I’d be looking in two years time, whenever it’s going to be, and see who is going to be interested in taking over.” Parlour said

“Try and put it in place now. Managers don’t hang around.

“Do you know who would be perfect one day? Patrick Vieira.

“He’s manager at New York, but now he’s probably in line for the Manchester City job instead of Arsenal. He’s part of their club.

“In the future, maybe Thierry Henry. He’s a very intelligent guy, he knows the players, he knows the dressing room and he knows how to attract big players.”
