Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi has revealed the truth behind reports which have stated that there has been a rift in the dressing room.

The Gunners started the 2018/19 season with disappointing results as they suffered defeats against Manchester City at home and Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

And even though Arsenal managed to secure their first win of the season on Saturday, rumours have continued about things not being right in the dressing room.

Reports from yesterday suggested that there had been a dressing room bust-up between Unai Emery and Mesut Ozil, who was left out of the squad for the West Ham game.

However, Guendouzi has moved to deny those claims in the media.

“No, there are never tensions,” the 19-year-old said

“We know what we are capable of, we have a great squad, a great staff. It’s a great club, we know we can do great things this year.

“Of course we lost the first two matches but there were very positive things in those first two matches, it should be noted.

“So now we won against West Ham and maybe we showed people who didn’t believe in us that we will be there this season and you have to count on us until the end of the season.”
