Arsene Wenger is now planning on adding another French goalscorer to his squad according to reports from the British media on Sunday.
The Arsenal manager was only able to bring in two players during the summer transfer window as Sead Kolasinac arrived before Alexandre Lacazette.
However, with the future of star forward Alexis Sanchez still looking very much uncertain, especially after his failed transfer to Manchester City, Wenger is apparently keen on finding a replacement.
And according to the Daily Mirror, the Gunners boss is now plotting a surprise move to sign Anthony Martial from Manchester United to fill the gap of Sanchez by next term.
The report is indicating that Wenger would like to secure the acquisition of the 21-year-old next summer after already being linked with him a few months ago.
Heading into this season, Martial’s future under Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford appeared to be doubtful but the former AS Monaco man has made a brilliant start to the new campaign to reassure his manager.
