Arsene Wenger appears to be intent on extending his options in attack by simply going back for one of the players he got rid of in the summer.

According to reports, the Gunners are now considering a decision to recall Lucas Perez from his loan move in Spain.

The 29-year-old joined Arsenal in the summer of 2016 as one of the late purchases of that transfer window along with Shkodran Mustafi.

But after struggling to cement a place in the Arsenal team during his debut campaign, Perez was allowed to join his former club Deportivo La Coruna on loan last summer.

However, with the Gunners now in a desperate position in the Premier League, Wenger is reportedly intent on bringing back the Spaniard much earlier than expected.

The move would certainly come as a surprise for many considering the wrecked relationship between Wenger and Perez.

Nonetheless, the indifferent form of players like Alex Iwobi and Theo Walcott means the Arsenal manager is likely to look elsewhere for alternatives in attack.
