Arsenal appear to be prepared to make a move to complete the addition of a new midfielder who could strengthen Unai Emery’s squad as the club battles for a place in the Champions League.

New Arsenal manager Unai Emery has so far made a decent start to his career at the Emirates stadium with his team currently on a 16-game unbeaten streak.

However, the former PSG boss is still aware that the club might need to spend more in order to bolster his squad and possibly challenge the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool for the Premier League title.

Thus, the Sun is reporting that the Gunners are eyeing a deal to secure the services of Villarreal star Pablo Fornals.

The 22-year-old midfielder has a £17.8 million clause in his contract and the report is suggesting that Arsenal are prepared to match it in an attempt to strengthen the team’s midfield.

The report adds that Arsenal are willing to offload Mohamed Elneny to help fund the move if they receive an offer in the region of £15 million.
