Arsenal receive decisive news after making £14m bid for experienced star
Arsenal have received some news which will ultimately decide the fate of their pursuit of Real Madrid’s second-choice goalkeeper this month.
The Gunners have seemingly been searching for another goalkeeper due to the erratic form of summer signing Bernd Leno, who has already conceded a staggering 22 goals in the Premier League this season.
As a result, Arsenal made a £14 million offer to sign Keylor Navas from Real Madrid.
However, the goalkeeper has now agreed to sign a new contract with the Spanish giants, ending the Gunners’ hopes of landing him this month.
According to Spanish outlet Marca, Navas has put pen to paper on a deal, after months of negotiations, that will see him stay with the Real Madrid until June 2021.
Arsenal will now have to look elsewhere for a new goalkeeper, with Petr Cech set to leave the club when his contract at the Emirates stadium expires in the summer.
