The Gunners have received an immediate response after making a desperate offer over the weekend to secure the services of Inter Milan star Ivan Perisic.

The fact that Danny Welbeck is unavailable while several attacking players in the squad – apart from Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang – are out of form means Unai Emery has been keen on adding another forward to his team.

Following the defeat to Manchester United on Friday, rumours claimed that the Gunners are now pursuing Ivan Perisic.

And according to Sky Italia, Arsenal have made an offer to sign the 29-year-old this month and Inter Milan have responded swiftly by declining the bid.

The Serie A side’s response to the Gunners’ proposal is to turn down an offer of a £4.3m loan deal which would have seen Perisic move to the Emirates stadium for the rest of the season.

Arsenal even added an option to purchase the Croatian international on a permanent deal for £34.5m but Inter Milan are not willing to accept an offer of that nature for now.
