The Gunners have provided an update on injured defender Hector Bellerin ahead of the summer break.

Unai Emery has seen his side troubled by injuries to key players in his first campaign at the Emirates stadium, just like his predecessor Arsene Wenger did.

The new Arsenal manager made a number of signings ahead of this season but his squad still appears to be thin and the glaringly obvious lack of depth has been particularly exposed in the final months of the season.

One of the players who have been left on the sidelines is Hector Bellerin, after the serious knee injury he suffered at the start of this calendar year.

The Spanish star was actually redeeming his form in the middle of the season when his campaign was brought to an end by an injury in a home win over Chelsea.

Ahead of the summer, the Gunners have revealed that Bellerin is in the midst of rehab as he looks to make a return at some point during the start of next season.

“Left knee. Continuing with gym based rehabilitation and strengthening post-surgery.” an update from the Arsenal official website said
