Arsenal in talks for signing of defender, but agents have their plans

The Gunners are said to be still in talks over a possible move to sign one of Ligue 1’s star defenders in the summer transfer window as the club eyes cut-price deals.
With the likes of Sead Kolasinac and Kieran Tierney not managing to stay fit for much of the 2019/20 campaign, Mikel Arteta has had to rely on youngster Bukayo Saka, who has done well in an unfamiliar role at left-back.
Thus Arsenal seem to be in serious need of a new full-back and writing for Calciomercato, Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed that the Gunners are still in talks with Layvin Kurzawa over a move to north London.
The 27-year-old has continued to be linked with an Emirates stadium switch, but according to the aforementioned report, Kurzawa’s agents are rather pushing for him to join Juventus.
However, the Serie A side’s diminishing interest in the Frenchman means that Arsenal, who are joined by Valencia in the race to sign Kurzawa, have an advantage in potentially landing their target.
The left-back’s contract with Paris Saint-Germain will expire this summer and therefore, the Gunners are allowed to initiate talks with Kurzawa who will soon be a free agent.
