Arsene Wenger appears to be well on course for the addition of one of his long-time transfer targets according to reports.
The Arsenal manager is under severe pressure to step down following his side’s disappointing form in the Premier League.
However, Wenger looks set to stay on for another year and that would mean the Frenchman will be in change of more transfer moves this summer.
According Talk Sport, Atletico Madrid have joined Arsenal in the race to sign Olympique Lyonnais star Alexander Lacazette, but the Gunners remain in pole position to secure a move for the striker.
The 25-year-old appeared to be on the brink of a move to the Emirates stadium last summer as Lyon turned down an initial bid of £35 million.
However, Arsenal are reportedly ready to increase their offer this time to $73.5 million (£60 million) with more funds likely to be available if Sanchez is sold.
