Arsenal striker: We know who to listen to
Pundit analysis and criticism makes no difference on the spirit of the Arsenal camp according to Theo Walcott.
The forward is now back on the sidelines after picking up a knee problem during the 2-0 FA Cup victory over Tottenham on Saturday. With Walcott set to miss the rest of Arsenal’s campaign, those who doubt the Gunners’ ability to maintain their strong position in the title race will be given more ammunition.
In recent years, Arsene Wenger’s men have managed to let their challenge for the Premier League crown slip when it mattered the most, and there are those who still believe that league leaders Arsenal will come tumbling down the table again at some point.
It is often difficult to ignore the noise of critics when it is all over the media, but according to Theo Walcott, the Arsenal squad has found a way of dealing with those who have something to say about their game.
“We are top of the league, we want to maintain that and the way we are playing at this moment there is no reason why we can’t” Walcott said on PLW
“We enjoy that people like to debate about Arsenal not being good enough to stay there. We enjoy that and we know the right person to listen to and that is the manager. He shows so much belief in us every week.”
