Arshavin played out the entire 90 minutes of Russia’s 3-1 win over Wales yesterday and even made his mark in Cardiff by setting up his country’s first goal.

That performance now appears to have come at the expense of yet another injury setback for Arsenal’s much-hyped forward.

And according to Sky Sports, Arshavin is set to sit out the league visit to Eastlands this weekend and the Champions League opener in Liege next Wednesday.

The Russian’s absence may be a gain for the fit-again Rosicky who is now odds-on to play on Saturday.
