Arteta speaks on condition of Saka after Burnley draw
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has revealed that there will be more information regarding the injury to Bukayo Saka on Monday after the youngster went off at half-time during the clash with Burnley in the Premier League.
With the likes of Kieran Tierney and Sead Kolasinac already struggling to stay fit, Mikel Arteta has been desperately short of options at left-back and that prompted the club into signing Cedric Soares right before the January transfer window closed on Friday evening.
With his two left-backs already sidelined, matters got worse for Arteta on Sunday as Bukayo Saka also had to be withdrawn at half-time as the youngster was forced off with an injury.
The 18-year-old, who has been in brilliant form in recent weeks, is now facing a nervy wait to find out the extent of his injury from the clash with Burnley.
Following the draw at Turf Moor, the Arsenal manager revealed Saka had been carrying an injury which resulted in his substitution.
“He’s been a threat for us and in the way we planned the game, we thought we could exploit them with him and he did really well when he was fit. I think in the last 10/15 minutes he was carrying his injury.” the boss said, via Arsenal.com
“We decided to substitute him because he wasn’t feeling good, so tomorrow we will know how he is.”
