Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has singled out one player for praise after the team’s mid-season training program in Dubai over the past week.

The Gunners used the early February break as a chance to travel to Dubai and recharge their batteries after a very turbulent start to the 2019/20 season.

One man who had not been in action prior to the break was Kieran Tierney, a player consistently troubled by injury problems in his debut season at the club.

Arsenal’s summer signing was nursing a shoulder injury which he suffered during the clash with West Ham back in December.

The young defender has managed to make a relatively quick recovery and he was able to join the squad for the trip to Dubai.

After taking part in individual training as he works on his fitness, Tierney has utilized the chance to make an impression on the manager.

According to Mikel Arteta, the Scottish left-back is a player who has really caught his eye in training.

The boss has lauded Tierney for the work ethic he has displayed behind the scenes.

“He is making very good progress but we need to wait for the bone and the attachment to the tendon to heal before he can make any contact,” Arteta said about Tierney’s recovery, as per Arsenal.com

“He has been training, his work ethic is incredible, I have been really impressed with him so hopefully we can get him back soon but we need to be a little bit patient with him.”
