Arteta reveals whether new signing Soares will actually play against Burnley

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has spoken on whether new signing Cedric Soares will be able to play a part in the clash against Burnley on Sunday after the defender’s move to the club on transfer deadline day.
Following another month of speculation, the Gunners ended the January transfer window with two new signings as Mikel Arteta bolstered his squad with a couple of defensive acquisitions.
Arsenal’s final addition of the winter window was Cedric Soares, who agreed to move to north London on Friday, in a deal that will see him remain at the club on loan from Southampton for the rest of the season.
Most fans of the Gunners will be looking forward to seeing the 28-year-old in action but it appears as though Soares’ debut will be put on hold for now.
When asked about whether the Portuguese star would be available for Sunday’s clash with Burnley in the Premier League, Arteta revealed the full-back is unfortunately not fit to play.
“They were assessing him yesterday and we will have more results today, but he’s got a little issue. I don’t think he will be available to play [on Sunday].” Arteta said via Arsenal.com
With Hector Bellerin and Ainsley Maitland-Niles both fit, the absence of Soares will not be a major concern for this weekend at least.
