Arsene Wenger has confirmed that his side has been hit with a new injury blow following the victory over West Ham on Tuesday.
The Gunners secured a spot in the semi-finals of the League Cup courtesy of a goal from Danny Welbeck in the first half.
Even so, it was not all good news for Wenger as Olivier Giroud limped off with an injury after 78 minutes of action.
The France international looks to have suffered a hamstring problem which means he will play no part in the upcoming clash with Liverpool.
“It’s a positive night but we lost Olivier Giroud.” the Arsenal manager said
“It doesn’t look very good for him. I think he’s out of Friday night.
“What is worrying is when you start to lose players. You can’t afford to lose another one.”
