As you would expect, the BBC Match of the day pundits did not hold back their strong thoughts on the man who nearly cost Arsenal the game on Sunday.
Arsene Wenger’s crew secured their second consecutive victory in the Premier League courtesy of a dramatic late penalty-kick from Alexis Sanchez against Burnley.
However, the Gunners might have clinched the win much earlier in the second half of the game had a Granit Xhaka foul not seen them go down to ten men.
And following his second red card of the season, BBC pundit and former Liverpool star Danny Murphy had some constructive criticism for the Switzerland international.
“I feel a little bit for him because he is not being played in the right role, he’s in the holding role but he is becoming a liability,” Murphy was quoted as saying.
“This technique he has found for tackling is silly.
“He keeps getting himself in these predicaments and he will end up not playing because the other players will get sick of it.
“I would hope someone would say to me you need to calm down.
“Who is saying that to him?”
