BBC reporter David Ornstein has claimed in a report that the Gunners have entered talks over the signing of one of PSG’s young midfielders before the closing of the January transfer window.

New Arsenal manager Unai Emery has maintained that the club is open to bringing in new players on loan this month in a bid to maintain a push for a top four finish.

The Gunners have been linked with a move for Barcelona star Denis Suarez for several weeks but a deal which appeared to be close to being completed with the Spanish side has collapsed.

According to BBC’s David Ornstein, Arsenal have now entered talks to sign Paris St-German midfielder Christopher Nkunku before the January transfer window closes.

Arsenal have been linked with the 21-year-old in the past and with a deal for Suarez looking hard to get done, the club has switched its focus towards young midfielder Nkunku.

“Arsenal want to take Nkunku on loan until the end of the season with an option to then buy – but PSG are said to favour extending his contract before sanctioning a loan move.” David Ornstein addedin his report
