Respected BBC journalist David Ornstein has revealed what he knows in regards to Arsenal’s move for AS Monaco star Thomas Lemar.
Arsene Wenger watched his side begin the 2017/18 Premier League season with a dramatic comeback victory against Leicester City on Friday evening.
And with the transfer window yet to be closed, the Arsenal manager has been linked with a deal for at least one more new addition.
AS Monaco star Thomas Lemar has been identified as Wenger’s primary target in the transfer market for much of this summer.
However, following three rejected offers, Arsenal’s attempt to sign the 21-year-old has been subdued in recent weeks.
And according to BBC’s Ornstein, the France international’s potential move to the Emirates stadium is looking ‘very unlikely’.
“It’s very unlikely Arsenal will sign him now,” he said, as quoted by Daily Star
“There is interest there but Monaco have made their stance pretty clear that he’s not for sale and it would take an incredible amount of money for Arsenal to prise him away.”
