Boost for Emery as 33-year-old returns ahead of Newcastle clash
Arsenal manager Unai Emery has been handed some good news on the injury front ahead of the clash with Newcastle in the Premier League on Monday night.
The Gunners’ boss will be hoping to see his side return from the international break with another win after back-to-back triumphs against Manchester United and Rennes in the Premier League and Europa League respectively.
Injuries have been an issue for Emery as usual this season and Nacho Monreal has been one of the stars who have struggled with fitness problems so far this term.
The 33-year-old recently suffered a calf injury and with several vital games now coming up as the campaign heads towards a finish, that had been a real concern for the Gunners’ boss.
However, ahead of the clash with Newcastle on Monday night at the Emirates stadium, Arsenal have confirmed that Monreal is back in training with the first team squad at London Colney.
“Right calf. Back in full training ahead of Newcastle United (h)” an update from the club’s official website said on Friday
