Coquelin out until March? (Report)
According to various claims, Francis Coquelin has suffered an injury which will keep him out for a chunk of Arsenal’s season.
The Frenchman hobbled off with a knee problem after just 14 minutes of action on Saturday, making way for Mikel Arteta who was later substituted.
After his absence was felt as West Brom defeated the Gunners 2-1, Arsene Wenger confirmed in his post-match interview that he feared Coquelin’s injury could be ‘severe’.
“We have two more injuries,” Wenger said. “One is a muscle problem for Arteta and the other one is a knee problem and I don’t know how serious that is but we will know certainly tomorrow, for Coquelin.
The 24-year-old reportedly underwent an MRI scan on Sunday and rumours from social media along with different sources are now suggesting that Coquelin will be ruled out for three months.
Wenger is expected to declare the extent of the midfielder’s injury on Monday ahead of the Champions League clash with Dinamo Zagreb.
Coquelin, who left the stadium on crutches yesterday, last sustained a knee injury in the 2-0 defeat to Chelsea back in September but that was only a sprain which saw him recover after missing one Premier League match.
