Abou Diaby ruled out for three weeks
Abou Diaby is back on the sidelines.
The French midfielder is to remain out of action for nearly a month after suffering a thigh injury on Saturday. Diaby was withdrawn from the match against Chelsea after only lasting 17 minutes as the Gunners went on to lose 2-1 to the blues.
The 25-year-old had spoken of his relief to return to playing football again as he rediscovered his form this season, but he will now be ruing his fortunes again with another injury lay off on the way.
Diaby appeared to have strained a thigh muscle after he let fly a decent shot at goal which landed right in the arms of Petr Cech.
Arsene Wenger will now have to call more on the services of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain who was Daiby’s replacement from the bench on Saturday. The Gunners do have returning options in the midfield department with a fit-again Emmanuel Frimpong and Jack Wilshere now scheduled to make a return with the Under-21 side on Monday.
oh FFS!
jus wat we needed
Injury…this is not what we gunners wanted..
disappointed again.. but diaby get well soon..
Win, loose or tie, I am Arsenal till i Die…
Diaby gets injured kicking the ball… says it all really.
Very familiar feel to today. Diaby injured … conceded soft goals to set pieces … poor French attacking players missing simple chances … this season is actually more of the same. Two wins from your first six matches is not a good start.
