Mesut Ozil ruled out of Spurs clash
Mesut Ozil will miss Sunday’s visit to White Hart Lane through a hamstring injury.
The German international limped off during the break in the 1-1 draw with Bayern Munich as Tomas Rosicky took his place in the second half.
When asked about the fitness of Ozil on Tuesday night, Arsene Wenger confirmed the Gunners’ record signing is set for a spell on the sidelines.
“Mesut Özil has a hamstring problem. It looks quite serious.” said the Arsenal manager
Ozil was only finding his stride again after making his first start since a brief absence against Everton Saturday. The 25-year-old’s struggles did continue during the first half of Tuesday’s meeting with Bayern Munich but Arsene Wenger revealed that fitness had been an issue for Ozil.
Indeed, the former Real Madrid man is now set to miss this weekend’s clash with Tottenham.
“For sure he’s out for at least a few weeks” Wenger said
