Arsenal are now wrapping up their second new signing of the January transfer window according to reports from a reliable source.

The Gunners have so far secured one new addition in the winter transfer window with young Greek centre-back Konstantinos Mavropanos moving to the Emirates stadium just over a week ago.

Following the departures of Francis Coquelin and Theo Walcott, Arsene Wenger has been linked with a move for a host of players to fill the gaps left in his squad.

But it appears as though the next signing will be made only through the transfer of Alexis Sanchez to Manchester United.

According to BBC journalist David Ornstein, the player exchange deal with the Red Devils has now been agreed and Henrikh Mkhitaryan is set to undergo his medical within the next 48 hours.

Both players were ommitted from the Arsenal and United match-day squads on Saturday and the swap deal is set to be made official imminently.
