Arsene Wenger has admitted that the club will have to offer Alexis Sanchez a new contract.
The Chilean international has been one of Arsenal’s best performers since joining from Barcelona in the summer of 2014.
Sanchez has racked up a total of 10 goals and six assists in all competitions so far this season, leading the team in both categories.
The 27-year-old’s inspired form has seen him linked to several clubs with less than two years remaining on his current deal with Arsenal.
Even so, Wenger insist the Gunners will take their time in offering Sanchez a contract extension.
“It is important. How important it is, I don’t know – we will not sort it tonight. We have some time in front of us.” the Arsenal manager said
When asked whether Sanchez deserved a huge pay rise after another sublime perforance against Bournemouth on Sunday, Wenger replied: “Well, you like us to spend money, so you should be happy!”
