Former Premier League star Yohan Cabaye has wowed about the potential of one of the Gunners’ recruits from the transfer window during last summer.

With Unai Emery in charge last summer, Arsenal did not hesitate to spend in the transfer market as the club hoped to make up for the failure of not qualifying for the Champions League.

One of the Gunners’ recruits in the post-season was William Saliba, whose services was secured after a breakthrough year which saw him become one of the most coveted youngsters in Europe.

Immediately after his transfer to the Emirates stadium, Arsenal opted to send Saliba out on loan to his former club Saint-Étienne.

And even though the defender has not been able to feature as often as he would have wanted due to injuries this campaign, Saliba’s quality has always been there for all to see.

According to his Saint-Étienne teammate Yohan Cabaye, Arsenal’s young centre-back has what it takes to make a real name for himself.

“He’s like a big man – he’s only 18 but he’s like a big man. The way he plays, him and Wesley Fofana are both fantastic.” Cabaye told ‘The Official Ligue 1 Podcast

“The future looks bright for them and I hope they continue in the same way.

“He’s strong and hopefully he will adapt himself really quickly. In a club like Arsenal with French players I think he can do really well.”
