Agent: Julio Cesar deal with Gunners not collapsed
The Emirates could still be the destination for Julio Cesar.
The Brazilian shot-stopper has been linked with a move away from QPR following the relegation of Harry Redknapp’s side but Cesar is yet to find a new club after impressing for his country in their triumph at the Confederations Cup this summer.
Speculation that the 33-year-old was on the brink of a move to Arsenal were put to bed when Napoli challenged the pursuit of yet another Arsenal target by offering Cesar a loan move.
But according to his agent Josias Cardoso, the former Inter Milan goalkeeper’s switch to Italy has failed to materialise after Napoli’s inability to afford Cesar’s wage demands.
“In Italy, lately I have only spoken with Napoli. Their President wanted him, but he would not cover the current salary of Julio.” Cardoso told Calciomercato.it
Indeed, Cesar’s agent is now claiming is his client could end up at Arsenal after the breakdown in his move to Serie A.
“Are there still hopes to see him in Italy? Well, I have not had any official contact with any other clubs there like Milan or Roma. But the fact is that Arsenal remains a solid possibility.”
