Carling Cup next, Video: Bischoff wonder goal
By Randy Osae
Ahead of the Carling Cup’s next round, many of Arsenal’s youngsters are expectedly vying for opportunities to further cut their teeth at the club. Vela, Wilshire, Gavin Hoyte, Gibbs, Randall and Djourou are almost certain starters for the visit of Steve Bruce’s muscled Wigan side in the fourth round of this year’s competition.
The first-team have had morale boosted by the victory over United, and Arsenal’s youngsters wouldn’t have to emulate them but just use the tricks of that convincing thrashing of Sheffield United in the previous round.
But Wigan possess more physicality than the Blades and perhaps the boys might need to add grit to their slick game.
Even though it might seem too early for him, one of Arsenal’s newly introduced boys has a good bet to feature.
It’s indeed the goal we never saw that has created alerting talks of who mystical summer signing Amaury Bischoff could be.
Potential was always certain but yet again, it looks as though one of Wenger’s low-key recruits could turn out to be a prodigious talent after all.
Reserves coach Neil Banfield lauded Bischoff as an “exceptional player” when he first wore an Arsenal shirt for the reserves against Stoke City in October. It was then reported he notched a stunning goal against Fulham recently.
But it always had to be witnessed with our own meticulous eyes for judgments to be made. And since the club’s reserves’ games are very scarce to catch on broadcast, Arsenal SPOT did best to search and find that goal Amaury Bischoff scored against Fulham.
In fact, the boy does look bright.
