Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla has also reacted on social media to the latest transfer move from Arsene Wenger this week.

The Gunners were expected by many to clear out several out-of-favour players during the summer but only Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Gabriel were permanently sold.

And with the January transfer window open again, Wenger has gotten rid of one more player who was expected to leave the club before the season started.

Following the 0-0 draw with Chelsea in the League Cup semi-final on Wednesday night, the Gunners approved the exit of Francis Coquelin.

The 26-year-old’s move to Valencia has now been confirmed by both parties, prompting goodbye messages from the midfielder’s now former teammates at Arsenal.

The likes of Theo Walcott and Hector Bellerin have bid their farewells to Coquelin and joining in is the injured Santi Cazorla.

Back in the 2014/2015 season, Cazorla formed a reliable partnership with the Frenchman in midfield which saw the Gunners go from struggling to fight for a top four spot to securing a third place finish and winning the FA Cup in the end.
