Charlie Adam has surprisingly praised Arsenal’s transfer business on deadline day despite the current toxic atmosphere surrounding the Emirates stadium.
The Gunners have endured a very frustraitng couple of weeks which have seen them suffer back-to-back away defeats in the Premier League.
And to make matters worse, Arsene Wenger failed to add any more new signings to his squad in the final week of the transfer window in response to the 4-0 defeat against Liverpool on Sunday.
The Arsenal manager and the club’s hierarchy have been criticised by many for refusing to cash in on want-away forward Alexis Sanchez who was the subject of a £60 million bid from Manchester City on Thursday.
However, Charlie Adam insists the Gunners’ decision to keep Sanchez at the club was actually the best of any team on deadline day.
“Sanchez staying at Arsenal is the deal of the day. At the moment they are lacking quality and it’s a big signing.” Adam said
