The coach of the Chilean national team has heaped praise on Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez.

Chile were without the 28-year-old during the first half of Sunday’s game due to an ankle injury scare.

However, Sanchez managed to come off the bench after 58 minutes to lead his country to a 2-0 victory over Cameroon.

The former Barcelona star was heavily involved in both goals from Arturo Vidal and Eduardo Vargas.

And that has seen him receive praise from his boss Juan Antonio Pizzi.

“He played a key role in both situations that led to a goal, so he’s happy.” he said

“I don’t like mentioning individual players but we can be very happy that he plays in our national team.

“He always wants to play with us so we have to take care of him, even if that means he can’t always be here when we want him.”
