Classic Shot: Big defeat in Munich for Gunners, Kahn and Lehmann still friends

Welcome to this week’s installment of Red London’s new feature, the Classic Shot.

Starring in today’s snap-shot is Arsenal old boy Jens Lehmann and his compatriot Oliver Kahn ahead of the quarter-final clash between Bayern Munich and Arsenal almost exactly eight years ago on February 22, 2005.

Despite the friendliness displayed between the goalkeepers, it was not all smiles for the Gunners who lost that first leg in Munich 3-1 and were ultimately knocked out of the competition that year after failing to overturn the deficit at Highbury.

Incidentally, that was the last time Arsenal faced the Germans. Seems like someone has a score to settle.
