Club official makes strange statement on Arsenal deal for 37-goal star
|The president of Olympique Lyonnais has responded to reports regarding Alexandre Lacazette’s supposedly imminent medical in London.
Arsene Wenger has been chasing the 26-year-old star since last summer when an offer for him was rejected.
However, reports ahead of the weekend suggested that Arsenal are closing in on a deal for Lacazette within a matter of days.
Indeed, there have been claims that the striker is set to travel to London Colney for a medical with the transfer virtually agreed.
But Jean-Michel Aulas has now stepped in and remarkably denied those reports completely.
According to the outspoken Lyon president, Arsenal’s initial bid of €45 million was recently turned down, Lacazette is not set for a medical and that is how things stand.
