One of the Gunners’ shareholders has backed the club to secure a move for two of Atletico Madrid’s biggest names after Thursday night’s frustrating 1-0 defeat in the Europa League.
Arsenal are bracing themselves for what could be a very busy summer following the announcement a couple of weeks ago that Arsene Wenger will be leaving his role as manager at the end of the 2017/18 campaign.
The departure of the Frenchman means the Gunners will have to appoint a new manager to oversee transfer business during the summer, for the first time in 22 years.
Without Champions League football for a second year in a row, Arsenal may not be able to easily attract some of the biggest names in the game.
Even so, Piers Morgan, who owns shares in the club, is backing the Gunners to secure what would be a surprising move for both Antoine Griezmann and his manager Diego Simeone in the summer.
